macushlaw acts for FED Urban Agriculture in Acquisition of Topsoil Galloping Goose Trail Farm

macushlaw is proud to announce it acted for FED Urban Agriculture Society in its acquisition of TOPSOIL urban farm, located on an undeveloped portion of Dockside Green along the Galloping Goose Trail.

FED is a charity that creates high impact urban food system projects that contribute to an equitable and regenerative future. They advance urban agriculture in Greater Victoria by transforming underutilized land into garden space, empowering vulnerable populations to grow food, and educating the community.

By partnering with growers, restaurants, community organizations, and beyond, they’re transforming Victoria’s cityscape into a vibrant foodscape.

TOPSOIL had a mission of converting underutilized urban spaces into productive food growing areas, and supplied fresh, premium produce directly to local restaurants and the local community in Victoria. FED will continue operating the farm as a related business to its charitable activities well into the future and create additional opportunities for on-site community engagement.

We were honoured to have played a small role in supporting the growth of urban farming as a charitable social enterprise and impact activity in British Columbia and look forward to watching FED’s growth of this remarkable project.
